St Andrews Day is Scotlands patron saints day, and this year Edinburgh offers greater opportunity than ever to join in the celebrations. St Andrews Day has become increasingly significant for Scotland in recent years. Hitherto November 30th has often passed by like any other day for most Scots, unlike most countries where patron saint and independence days are acknowledged with patriotic fervour.
